Inclusion & Support Groups are a core part of the Bloom community.
Here is a snapshot of some of the many groups (and growing) that we’ve created within the community to better support all our members to thrive:
-
Bloom In Colour
Bloom in Colour supports Bloom members within the industry who identify as Women of Colour from marginalised ethnic communities. This group exists to champion, support and elevate women of colour, driving equity and reinforcing the need for diversity from within Bloom and beyond. It is a safe space for Bloom women to discuss the challenges they face when it comes to diversity, and provide support.
-
Bloom Mpower
Mpower is about ‘mpowering’ midlife and beyond. We exist to help Bloom members better understand and deal with the challenges of peri-menopause, menopause & midlife; to educate, elevate & empower this stage and ultimately to lead policy change in the industry.
Together we strive to change the narrative around midlife and menopause, reframe attitudes and push the discussion of age discrimination onto D & I agendas to protect the longevity of women’s careers.
And above all else we are a supportive, safe & encouraging space to share experiences and seek advice that is open to everyone in Bloom. -
Bloom Parents & Carers
The purpose of this group is to build a support community for anyone who may be a parent, carer or an ally to those who are. We empower members to share their experiences and any resources that have helped them via our IG WhatsApp group and check-in calls and events.
-
Bloom Neurodiversity
This group’s mission is to “Make our invisible visible, and workable”.
We want to make Neurodiversity (ND), which is still largely hidden and misunderstood more visible and understood amongst Bloom members and the wider Industry. Thereby to improve work prospects and progress for those who are ND and, to support each other in the process. We do this to ensure that every ND woman is given equal opportunities in the communications industry:
- To find work that works for her
- To keep work by raising awareness of her needs at work and getting those met
- To ‘bloom’ at work and at home
- To help other NDs, especially women to do the same.
-
Expats in Bloom
There are so many expats at Bloom, and for those of us who have been in the country for 10, 15, or even more years, UK has truly become our second home. Funny enough, sometimes we even feel like strangers in our birth countries!
At the same time, we have members who have just arrived in the UK and are eager to learn, adapt, and connect. That’s what this group is about—supporting each other, sharing experiences, and simply having a good time.
-
Women's Health in Bloom
Our mission is to support the Bloom community to navigate women's health circumstances and challenges through education, advocacy and support. This group is a space to open up conversations and move away from the taboos of talking about difficult experiences to do with women’s health.
-
Bloom Pride
A dedicated safe space for LGBTQ+ community members and allies, this group aims to make our industry a more accepting and inclusive environment for all.
-
Bloom Mental Health
Our aim with this group is to provide a safe space for anyone who would like support with anything related to mental health and emotional challenges you may be experiencing - whether it’s in your personal or professional life.
-
Bloom Founders & Freelancers
With quite a few members navigating the ‘sole’ career route, this group is dedicating to enabling founders and freelancers to connect, support and learn how to make the most out of working on a flexible / freelance basis.
