Bloom Parents exists to support members who are expectant or current parents. As a group, we aim to offer a safe, open space for working parents to come together to share experiences and advice. Our group is committed to driving positive change for all working parents in the industry. Whether it’s providing tips to achieve a successful maternity leave return or shining a light on how the treatment of dads/co-parents also impacts gender equality, our goal is to help make the industry more inclusive.
Bloom Parents
In 2022 we are exploring the experiences and treatment of industry dads and co-parents. We will only really achieve gender equality when we allow dads and co-parents the flexibility and understanding they may want or need to take on their share of the parental responsibilities. Equally, a greater understanding of what this group needs is another step towards a more inclusive and diverse industry.
This year, we’d like to pass our dads and co-parents the mic, to better understand how we as an industry are turning up for them and crucially how they may like employers and colleagues to turn up for them.
In June, we ran our first Booth of Truth for industry dads and co-parents only, their real voices offering some first powerful insights.
Exploring the experiences of dads and
co-parents in our industry
Our first industry-wide survey for current and expectant dads and co-parents is open.
From parental leave policies on offer to the daily cultures experienced, we would love as many responses as possible to paint an accurate picture of people’s experiences but also what they would like to see in a post-pandemic world. So as an added incentive all respondents will be entered into a prize draw, with two respondents chosen at random for a 1-hour coaching session with Working Wonder - 1 x private 1-hour session for each person.
Prize draw winners can choose to cover a topic of their choice for the coaching session, with virtual coaching available.
Examples of topics that could be covered include:
Growing your confidence as a working parent
Identifying goals and ambitions
Defining what success looks like for you
Designing your new home/work life routine
Carving your own career path
Managing your time and the mental load
Working Wonder is a workplace culture transformation consultancy that empowers companies and their employees to create progressive, inclusive and positive working environments and practices. Delivered through providing career coaching, training, employer brand marketing and consultancy.
Results will be gathered and analysed for publication in November.
Survey prize draw T&Cs
Survey respondents will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win one of two private one-hour coaching sessions with Working Wonder. Winners will be selected at random and contacted by Bloom first to ensure they are comfortable with their email address being shared with Working Wonder to arrange the session. The draw has now closed. All email addresses provided will only be used to contact the winners to arrange their coaching session. By completing the survey you agree to these terms and conditions.
Fathers & co-parents survey
We were delighted to partner with Major Players on The Great Return, a maternity leave playbook launched at BloomFest 2021. This game-changing guide explores data collected from over 200+ women from the communications industry, offering practical advice and initiatives that can be implemented often at little or no cost, empowering employers, managers, and colleagues with the knowledge to create positive and more effective experiences for those pre, during and post-maternity leave.
